There used to be a Mity Mite down here in the Keys, but its been at least 10 years since I’ve seen it around. I think they are all “short”. These things are way more underpowered than an L-head Willys.

Had a friend who worked on the M274 Mules. He had a bunch of Chevy Chevettes sitting around under a shelter. I asked, "Why do you have all those Chevettes?" He said, those are the diesel version of the Chevettes, and I put the engines in the Mighty Mites. The Mite came originally with an aluminum V4 with chrome sleeves, and they get really expensive to rebuild. Saw a Mite where the guy put a VW turbo diesel and it was a really cool build. Don't know why they are all bule when you find them, unless that was the primer color.

Those were Isuzu diesels in those ‘80s Chevettes, and had a 5-speed behind them. That, and the aluminum V4 was air-cooled in the Mity Mites. They had a really bad habit of overheating due to chaff clogging inside the cooling tin.
