I have had that setup for a couple years now and it works great especially with the wilwood control unit.

When I went into this, I spent a lot of time trying to visualize how this works. I tried to show some photos etc. that would help others in same situation as I was.

I am curious, with the Wilwood control unit, can you control the "clamping force"? . . Too me it seems that the Wilwood would be perfect for anyone who wanted to clamp with maximum force, everytime, both wheels. This would be best for anyone not running a limited-slip or open diff.

For those running limited slip or open, the way I am controlling -> adds some extra flexibility of clamping down on a spinning wheel, on one side.

I assumed that this was relatively new conversion option, not a couple years old. haha

the wilwood controller acts like a stock system. There are no settings or adjustments. I think it clamps with fill force when locked. I like that the switch has a light that indicates if the brakes are locked or open. The wilwood controller is very expensive but i think its worth it for my needs

A light would be really nice. Instead of -> "did I lock the brakes last time I shut the Jeep off"? :) One advantage of the mechanical lever, you could look down to see if pulled up.

Uh oh, does that mean these might be somewhat un-reliable? Is the "brake actuator", this motor assembly?

I looked thru that thread before I installed mine. I did not notice it was that old.

I wonder if the older escape calipers will work for folks who want to keep a mechanical parking brake?

Are you asking me? And are you asking about a dual master cylinder? If so, I chose mine based on a conversion thread I read years ago. I think it was for a '63 Ford Fairlane, or something like that. I don't remember what made that a good option, but it has worked very well for me. If anyone would like more details, I can try to figure out what I did. haha

Seems like it might, assuming Ford kept the dimensions the same from mechanical to electrical. I would be happy to take any measurements of mine if it helps.

I have been very happy with these so far! Very strong, and cool that it gives one-wheel option.

Today I got a chance to try out the "steering brake" functionality. On a trail I have done many times before, there is a left-hand turn that is too sharp without making it a "2-point", even in front-wheel drive only. (I have Dana 300, twin stick). Today, in front only, with some brake applied to driver rear -> my '2A went around the turn very easily.

Purchased the “Brennan’s Garage Conversion Kit “ last year to include the EEE Brakes parts from Rock Auto. Everything has been on the back burner due to life events; built a new house and a new family. Plan to install in the spring, can’t wait.
