Can someone give me a measurement on the height of the center of their rollbar, off the wheel tubs? I think the bar in this Jeep is too low. The top rubs my head, and I seem to remember that the bar is supposed to be several inches taller than the top of the windshield frame.
Trying to figure out if my seats are too high, or the rollbar is too low…

    Thanks!

Correction - I should have asked for a measurement from the floor to the bottom of the rollbar.

    Mine is measuring 42”.

    Sounds normal to me.

But replacement seats are very often higher under the butt than the stock ones. I mounted my Smittybilt lowbacks as close to the floor as I could get them.

Do you plan on running a full soft top?

The seats are aftermarket, and they are definitely thicker than the stock ones. That might be the issue, but this rollbar just looks funny to me

I sorta doubt it. This Jeeps will probably only be driven in good weather.

Hmmm. Maybe the problem is just the aftermarket seat…

Get some electrical EMT and make a domed brace. It will help shed water.
Bikinis run low due to the roll bar needing to fit under the normal hard and soft top supports.
A lot of tops are level front to back with the windshield profile. The roll bar won't be any higher than the windshield.

Having no rollbar in my '56, that's what worked for me. Stashes easily inside the rear of the tub.

Back in the day when my dad was competing in Jeep Jamborees the rule for roll bar height was it had to be 2.5" taller then the driver when wearing a helmet. If no helmet I would assume a good 3.5 inches above your head when looking straight forward. A measurement off the floor or something is of no use from a safety point of view. In a roll the jeep will most likely rest on the top of the grill and the roll bar if your head is sticking up past this line 3-4 inches your going to have a very sore neck. I am 5' 10.5" My seats are about an inch thicker then stock and my roll bar is 42.5" from the floor to the top of the bar. But this is also for my body shape. A person the same height can have even 4" different in leg to truck length which would change the required height. Its best to go off your own height in your own seats and give it at least 2.5 to 3.5" of clearance.
