Parking Brake Cables

    My 70 Commando has the stock 10" rear brakes, with parking brake. If I switch to 11' brakes from a newer Commando or CJ, will the cables work?

    My understanding is no because the cables for the 10" brakes bolt into the backing plate whereas the cable for 11" brakes is pressed into the backing plate. I don't know if there is more to it, but that's one difference between the cables.
