    I didn't know the stepside was available as late as 72.

    Yeah I'm aware, but the one in the ad has the early style bed, looks like a Willys pickup or an FC. I've only seen those on real early J trucks.

    That's a new one for me too. I thought they had modernized the ALL the beds by this time. I was quite skeptical about this truck until I saw the tailgate. Never saw one of those either.......with the later "Jeep" stamping in it. All I've seen is the old WO stamping or blank. Quite interesting. Always learning.

    I dont know too much about the “thriftside” beds but yeah, it’s pretty surprising to see one that late. 72 was the Kaiser/AMC transition year right? It has the Kaiser style door panels and armrests… seriously. There were so few significant changes on these trucks over the years but when you try to buy parts for an early J truck and they don’t fit you discover them.
