My coil with resistor was ordered last night and will be here tomorrow. Replacement of the coil through Amazon is about the same price as a ballast resistor locally. My 1968 wiring is still in decent shape for what it is but if I can remove some of it and run a new wire from switch to coil I would think it's not a bad idea. Most of my wiring problems have been at connections exposed to heat and or moisture like the dimmer switch that gets heat from the headers and moisture.

Waiting for the coil today it was only 108* so I decided to reinstall my diamond plate rocker and corner covers. Still need to finish painting the tailgate and interior. 20240702_173625.jpg

I can't really say much for the tires. They probably have less than a 1/4 mile on them in a total of maybe 5 quick test runs up the street and back. I thought they would be good for the tire eating rock we have around here. The wheels are american racing outlaw wheels if I remember correctly. I ordered wheels from summit and the tires from Amazon about a year ago. Only thing I can say with 100% accuracy is the tires have held air since I mounted them.

Thank you, I think it looks good. It's been so hot when I get home it really makes it hard to get motivated.

My wiring harness came with a small tube of dielectric grease. I wsa planning to use it on the rear light connections since they are the most exposed, but this makes me think I should use it on all connections.

UPDATE: Replaced coil with new coil with resistor as well as probably an over kill 10guage wire from ignition switch to new coil bypassing old crusty wire. It fired up in less than a 1 second of cranking. So far I'm calling this a win.

Quick U toob video ps. Don't look at my left blood clot leg in the video.
