New aluminum slot wheels? No fit?

    I was looking at these, and gave them a call. They have the 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern, but with a 3.42" taper bore, won't work on Jeeps w/hubs. Also found they have a 4.5" backspace, not sure if that is right for CJ. I think stock on my 83 CJ7 with 15x7 is 3 5/8 or thereabouts. I would expect BS to be split in and out coming to around 4"??

    I really would like a set of these for my 83, maybe for -5 also. Wonder if a guy could have the hub bore machined out to fit? As long as the bolt pattern is right and backspace, I would think it would work? Wonder what cost for the machining would be?

    These use the conical seat lugs vs shank type which is nice also.

    I know your pain, I want a set of these for my Cj and they are basically the same specs, tapered bore and all. They are American Racing Torq-Thrust, I just don't have the heart to buy a new set of wheels and throw them up on my mill to bore the center hole out to fit the front hubs.

    These are the only rim I would ever put on a classic car like a 55 chevy, I have always thought they would look great on a Jeep also.

    Those are my fav. rims Mike. I'm lovin' the new Mustangs with this style rim on 'em. Not sure they'd be right for a Jeep tho. IMHO.

    The torq thrust would be my choice if I ever got a muscle car. I doubt you could safely bore the center on those due to the design though? Plus it might not look right?The aluminum slots I think would be OK, both from looks (no change really) and strength.
