Now that I have disc brakes all the way around what rims fit over the discs. I've already installed the 2.5 skyjacker lift. I plan on running 31s or 33s does it matter on rim selection? I would think late 70s cj fit but what other vehicles have 5 - 5 1/2 that fit this set up.

I know the 8" black Rock Crawler rims fit over disks.

late '70s ford trucks use the 5-5 1/2.

We picked up come late 70's or early 80's CJ white spokers from a junkyard ($20 each). They fit just fine over the Jeep/Chevy disc brake combo.

Do 16" rims fit? What about the 15" Renegage aloy rims?

So, I was browsing the Stockton catalog today (a dangerous thing to do with a credit card anywhere within reach), and I stumbled upon these:

    Looks sweet!

Prolly not cheap, but Stockton will pretty much make them to whatever backspace, lug, or caliper that you've got.

I've got the same setup - 2.5 skyjacker, disc, 33's. I'm running 15 x 9 cheap white spoke no name. I tried the wheels off my Ford pickup once & the bolt hole pattern was good but the center hole wasn't large enough.

My ideal wheel would be 15 x 8 or 15 x 9 black spoke stockton with custom offset. The offset is the key to allow the tires to not hit the inner fenders in back when crossed up and the springs in front when turning. I guess that would require less(?) offset than normal which would move the wheel & tire center outward.

I believe this is a pretty common situation but I don't know the "ideal" offset. From my research I'm fairly sure the ideal offset is not available from a stock or stock aftermarket wheel - it needs to be custom.

I have Eaton 15x10 rims with 3 1/2" backspace, which is the minimum that they would build. Cost was $74 each. The wheels are $59 each with 3 3/4" bs from National Tire & Wheel and they will custom offset for $15 each. I think it's US Wheel that you can get rims in a 2 1/2" bs which seems like it would be a good choice for an 8" width. Check Summit Racing. It looks like a 15x10 with 4 1/2" bs is a good choice when running a Dana 30 front. I'm going to swap a 79 D30 into mine soon and will complete measurements to keep the outside of the front as close to where it is now as possible and order rims based on that.

Guys, this thread is two years old now.

It's probably best to start a new one if you have questions. I know there's been a couple that are very recent. That would do more good for the person asking than the original poster here.

I bought some chrome 15x8 with 2.5" backspacing new for about $60 each (plus center caps and lug nuts). I'll try and find where I got them if you're interested.

Fletch, I'm interested. Why did you choose 2.5" and how well does it work?

Sorry it took so long to respond, I had a hell of a time finding the link. Here are the wheels I bought: http://www.4wheelcustoms.com/Products.asp?Cat=417
    Pro Comp Wheels Series 99 15X8 5X5.5 2.5"B.S. REV
    Part #:99-5885R2.5 Our Price: $75.72

I got the 2.5" BS to widen the track a bit without using spacers. I have 31/10.5/15 mounted on them and the look very nice on the jeep. My restoration is not yet complete  so I haven't driven with them yet, but they do look good:)
