Carb questions

    So my rebuild seemed to work despite some issues. Heavily pitted bowl from sitting water, stripped out screwin the bottom of the bowl, and a carb kit that didn't have all the necessary parts. Anyway it actually started today at lunch. Question is on the side of the carb (Carter) is a horizontal tube about 1" long thats pressed into the carb body. Is this for a vacuum line? I temporarily plugged it but don't see where a line would go. It has electic wipers. Thanks.

    how big is tube? which motor :hurrican: or :v6: ?

    F head motor. The tube is about 1/4" dia. with a ring or bulb to hold a hose.
