    Jim Misc questions

Thanks, I Googled them. They are closed today but list some of his dashes so I got an idea of the cost $ 200 or so.
I took my old dash out today, it was really easy. I would always just take it out to work on it in the future.
What a tangle of wires!! Can't wait for my wiring kit to get here. I figured out what I did though I grounded a wire to the headlight switch and killed ALL my lights. New switches and wire kit on the way. Got all new gauges.
It has some kind of switch on the brake lines. You hold down the brake flip the switch and it holds line pressure to the rears. I'd like to figure it out and get it working as the emergency brake is useless. While I have the dash out I'm going to just take the EM brake out. It is a pull handle up under the dash that doesn't pull.
Is there a better choice available?
Also the choke cable doesn't pull so I need to replace that while things are apart.
Somebody signs theiir post "The 6 Mllion $$ Jeep". I'm starting to understand that real well. I am sure having fun though.

    LOL..$6 million...they got a cheap jeep.
    thats just the start. =)

get an e-brake from like a minivan. the floor mounted one. attach it to yer d-18 if you have one. that way, with the twin stick, floor shifter, e-brake, pto and overdrive, NO ONE will understand which lever does what and CANNOt steal your jeep...lol
my floorboard is going to look like a porquepine.

    Re: Jim Misc questions

You might try some searches around the brake lock (also try mico lock as it's a brand name of a brake lock). IIRC there's been some discussion around them and things mentioned like units bleeding off pressure over time, or not being a road-legal substitute for a mechanical parking brake if you have inspections.

Another alternative for a parking brake is to upgrade the rear brakes to 11" drums which have the accomodations for a parking brake cable. I plan to do that, and initially try hooking the cable up to the under-dash handle. Someone mentioned not being able to get enough pressure this way, but it's worth a shot. Floor levers are cool...but with kids and dog getting into the backseat all the time I'd prefer an under-dash brake handle.

i thought line lock was used for launches on the drag strip

i've got it in my mustang, only for the front brakes, but its a push button. a toggle switch would be cool if it would work for the parking brake.
