    I currently have a 65 cj with 538's Dana 27 & dana 44 how can I tell if 373's from a 68 cj would fit?
    Thanks Steve

So long as the gears are from another dana 27, all you will need to do is make sure they are from a Jeep Dana 27 and that you get the carrier with it also, as you will need it. The dana 44, so long as you have the original 2 piece axle (not Flanged 1 piece) you will need the carrier along with it and that should do it, the spline count on the dana 44 2 piece is different than the 1 piece, 19 spline versus 30 spline. So the flanged carrier will not work cause of the different spline count.

just to add to what was said, early 2 piece 44's had 10 splines, but your '65 should have a 19 spline 2 peice 44.
