This weekend I broke a front driver side leaf spring which led to me cracking the hard brake line on the same side. I took it to a guy down the street that said he would fix the brake line and sell me new 4" springs that he had sitting around as opposed to me ordering one new replacement, all for $300, labor and parts. I was just wondering what else I will have down the line once I do get this lift put on as in extending brake lines ,anything else I may need to watch out for, or should start saving for. I really wouldnt be so hasty and probably just order one replacement spring if I didnt need to get this thing on the road so I can get to work. Your advice is appreciated.

the price on the kit installed sounds great, but the unseen things might not make it the best option if you need th cj to be reliable right now. things that probably are going to need to be done... double cardon driveshaft, shims to correct castor/help with pinion angles, you might want to look into a drag link/hysteer (sp?). you've already mentioned brakes, but to me that's not the hard stuff. getting the steering back in where you feel good driving it at speed took me a while after i did the saginaw conversion, but then i'm also a panzy.

if you kinda need the jeep for little trips here and there go for it, but don't expect it to handle the same way and be poblem free right when you get it back unless your mechanic is good. i'm sure others will drop in and tell their experiences, but 'm still finding minor glitches from the steering conversion i did at the beginning of summer (knee hits wheel -> swing knee further out when hitting clutch -> pedal arm not hit body framing -> clutch pedal gets stuck at bottom of floor). they're little things with easy solutions, but it still takes time to figure out exactly what is happening.

    driveshaft length
rear d-shaft angle as mentioned above
extended brakelines from the hardline to the drums front and rear.

steering may or may not be an issue. That all depends.

you will probalby want larger tires at some point to fill the gap in the wheel wells.

I know, but like I said he has the springs right now sitting in his shop, I have to get to work. I also know this is a bit hasty but down the road I was wanting a lift this size anyway.

Seems like you have already made up your mind and are just looking for confirmation. Go a head and do it. Just be prepared for the other items mentioned above.

I would not do any off-road driving until the brake lines and driveshaft issues are corrected though.
