    Hello,
I have a question. I currently have a 225V6 mated to a reciently Rebuilt SM420 mated with an AA adaptor to a dana 18 t-case. The T-case is the 1 1/4 intermediate shaft. I am thinking of swaping out to a NV4500 and Dana 300 T-case.

Does anyone have an idea what is a good price to advertise this setup for?

    thanks

Bro, why on earth would you want to get rid of your current setup? Is it just for the 5th gear in the NV4500? If that's the case, have you considered a Warn Overdrive? I am not 100% sure but I think that would be a pretty LONG setup for your Jeep.

Yep too long for a flattie unless you lengthen the wheelbase quiet a bit. For the price of a 4500+300 you could put in a few Warn ODs.

    Here is my situation:
I have been building a 42gpw for a few years. I have installed the 225v6/sm420 and Waggy axles w/ soa. I really enjoy the setup but I have found that it is too small for my growing family.
I have purchased a 69 commando with a turbo 400/d20. The added comforts of doors, heater, an optional hard top, solid floorboards and added room makes this a better option for me. I was intending to basically swap out the entire drivetrain from the flatfender to the commando. I also picked up an additional 225/3speed/ dana20 combo as well. I also would like an overdrive since my axle gears are 5.89. My intended use is to have a daily driver that is capable to handle weekend trips into the Sierras.
    My options are:

    1. sell the flatfender as is, keep the auto in the commando and upgrade the axles. Not perfered, dont like autos for wheeling.

    2. swap out the drivetrain from the flatfender into the commando for the 3speed and axles from the commando and sell the flatfender and auto setup. I would then get an warn overdrive. this is what i have been intending to do all along.

    3. Sell the flatfender with the 3 speed setup, sell the engine/auto setup and the sm420 setup and purchase an nv4500 and dana 300 and use my exsisting 225v6. I like this option because i can clock the t-case and install a 4 to 1 kit. The tranny is also easier to shift. length is not an issue. I think that this option nets me the best chance to afford it. The question comes to how much this setup will cost.

So.. back to my original question, what do you think a SM420/D18 setup is wourth.

    thanks

Considering that the 420 is rebuilt, I'd guess in the neighborhood of $750 - $1,000 depending on the condition of the t-case. You could probably get $750 quick, but you might have to find the right buyer to pay $1,000.

    Just my .02 worth

Nice rig. Have you considered selling it whole?

Depending on where you are, a built flattie can fetch a decent price (especially in the mid/southwest)...
