Anyone know of anything I can use to adjust vacume before it hits the vacume advance canister? I purchased an adjustable vacume advance kit...but it wouldn't work because it was too long....It would hit the fan. I can't clock the distributor any other way either.
    Thanks

Is there room to move the fan closer to radiator? You probably checked but I thought I'd ask. What I have done on mine is unconventional but worked for me. After adjusting mine. I cut off the nozzle and brazed it back on at an angle. It clears and so far so good, but now I can't adjust it anymore. I told you it was unconventional, lol

I used a normal vac advance unit and put a screw to restrict the travel of the rod where it runs under the rotor it advances fine and the screw stops it from going to far.

Are you using a "Flex Fan" by chance? Just had the same problem on my 67 Jeepster.. Had to return to the factory style fan, less pitch on the blades. You can also get a different vacuum advance with the vacuum port off to the side.. They had them on some models of the evenfire.
