Currently i have 2 electric fans. At first they were for space issues. i think now that i remounted my radiator, i could adda a mechanical fan to make it simpler. I am wondering how far the tip of the fan blades are from the water pump flange. I know not all fans are equal, but i just want to picture how much space i have to deal with. Thanks!!!

no, the i would sat the width of the blades, Say with the fan mounted, i want to no how much offset the fan has on the water pump and the front to rear distance of the blades.

just find the diameter fan you want to run and they offer an almost endless selection of spacers to move it farther from the water pump toward the radiator.

i actually may need to move it toward the motor, that is why i need a measurment. I am close to the radiator, i need to know i guess it would be the depth of the fan blades. I dont want a flex fn, i already had one of them meet my radiator. I am not sure if the blades are offset of the mountnig flange. I also have to watch if i put th efan back that i will hit the belts. I want to go back to a stock heavier fan so just looknig for some meaurements of a stock 225 fan

Dan do you have th long water pump snout, or the short one?

What kinda flex fans are you guys running, mine won't bend forward at all, the front has a very stiff steel plate that doesn't allow it to come forward, it will flatten out but it won't pull forward, besides just keep it a little loose on the belt.

I have a short 225 on my 4.1L. unless there is shorter, but i am not sure bout that.

It was probably mor ethe radiator meeting the fan, since it kind of busted from its mounts. :(

    Dan,

The fan that I just pulled off my 225 is almost exactly 1" from the outside fan blade tips to the weater pump flange.

Well good news. I have about 5 inches between pulley edge and radiator. now i have to determine what fan to use, and just how much this fan will help. My radiator is up a bit higher than the motor, so right now the center of the fan will be between the bottom and center of the radiator. So that means the top portion oof the radiator will not get and fan action. I guess with the space i have i could use a fan clutch. I have alot of water down here and would like to keep the fan from killing the motor when hitting water. Anyone got any fans for sale or suggest a good rigid fan?

before I found the 7 blade I'm running, I purchased a rigid 6 blade from Summit.
they had a pretty good selection of diameters and are rated for 8000 rpm I believe
seems it was $20 + shipping
