I had the valve cover off setting the timing and noticed there was no oil coming off the rocker arms. I have 50 to 80 pounds of oil pressure and am used to v-8's where there is lots of oil coming off the rocker arms.
There is oil laying in the head under the valve springs but no oil coming from the rockers anywhere I can see.
Anybody notice this or something different?

The Buick motor oils thru the shaft, it flows from a hole in the pedestal for the shaft (on the head casting) on one end or the other and then flows thru the shaft and out holes where the shaft has a rocker on it. Then flows thru the rocker and onto the pushrod and onto the valve tip.
No its not a Chevy motor where you get hosed from oil flying eveywhere when the engine is running and the valve cover is off, shaft mounted rockers don't soak you like pedestal style do.

    Thanks Mike,
It is quiet so I figured oil was getting there in some amount. But I'm not seeing oil on the valve stem. I have had low oil pressure 10-20 pounds. I pulled the oil pump spring (Melling high volumn) and put the strongest and longest in. The pressure jumped up a LOT!!

Yes, it is impressive. When I was a kid in the early 60's we used to put shims behind the spring to raise the oil pressure in our junkers.
    Worked then, works now.
