So.I had a "small" fire involving my ignition wire and the wires coming from the blinker/hazard unit on the column. A couple of days before I realized when I put on the right blinker all the lights in the jeep would dim to the blinker. Light, dark, light, dark (you get the idea) So after the smoke show I rewired the fried wires. She still does the blinky thing though. Any ideas? I have a couple but would like to start with the most common.
    Thanks

Sounds like a ground issue. Verify your ground is good first.

If you don't have one, invest in a modest multi-meter. A test lamp is handy, but is subjective to ambient light. A multi-meter allows you to check continuity, short to ground, and how much power you're getting.

Take wires who's circuit is open and check short to ground, check continuity from battery/fuse block and the switch if you have continuity and no short to ground that part of the circuit is OK. Check the switch for continuity/operation.

Split circuits in half (find logical places like battery to fuse block, fuse block to switch, switch to device, device to ground), check for power/continuity/short to ground as appropriate. Your problem is either before the half way point or after it. Keep checking halving the circuit until you've isolated the problem. Be aware, you may have a multi-mess problem with the original problem that caused the fire and problems caused by the fire. Diagnostics is the key, it's cheaper too.

sounds like a wire is grounding out when you turn the switch on. even though you changed the wires, since it still does it, I'd be looking at every wire in that system looking for cracks in the insulation. It gets brittle on these old jeeps and will crumble in your hands sometimes.
Find the bad wire or it'll happen again.
