factory frame mounts would have to come from a donor Jeep CJ.
one side of a Commando is the same as a CJ
the other side is different, can't remember which one it is

I think Novak or advance has the mounts to do the 225 conversion.

Ive used advanced ,,one size fits all adapters before , and wasnt real impressed , the frame still has the sleeved bolt holes for what ever came out of it ,, I can use it as a starting point to make my own ,, but measure ments would be great on left to right and front to rear ,, wanted originals so i know it would be in the right place

    thanks again for everyones help

I would be happy to get some measurements for you, but I don't think they would help too much. Since the pre-'72 frames are shorter, there's no way to compare apples-to-apples.

I have seen a 225 in an intermediate before. The engine was against the firewall just like it would be in an early CJ, but there was a LARGE space in front of the fan before the radiator. The guy was having problems with keeping the engine cool b/c he didn't have a shroud large enough to go from the rad all the way to the fan.

You could shift everything forward to get a better rear driveshaft angle, but that might put your tranny shifter right up in the dash...

your right plus ill probably put the engine closer to the front anyway, because its got a sm 420 then the adapter to the 18 so its much longer than stock anyway, Plus the more forward it is bell housing clearance on the driveshaft and probably more room for the steering shaft

thanks again anythoughts yall might have , would be great to hear
