I'm putting in a Saginaw conversion in my 64 CJ-5. I've got the box, rod/link, shaft and knuckle from a 71 Commando. I've got a 75 DJ column and shaft. Is there a combination u-joint out there to connect the smaller yoke on the DJ column to the larger yoke on the Commando shaft. The object is a beefier shaft with a bell coupler instead of a "skinny" shaft with a rag joint. NAPA couldn't help. Anyone heard of such an animal?

is this for power or manual steering?
you are trying to couple the DJ column to a jeepster steering shaft?
you say you have the DJ shaft, why not use that? it will work with the DJ shaft and U joint, as that is how it was originally setup.
maybe i'm not understanding your question 100%. i just went through the same conversion using the same parts you are. mine is a manual setup.

Thanks for the replies. It's manual, don't want to put a pump on the F4. I can use the DJ shaft, but I've got the Commando shaft too and it's a stronger unit. The DJ u-joint is frozen so it needs replacing anyway. I would like to upgrade to the Commando shaft if it's possible for the price of a u-joint.

Thanks, just trying to keep it cheap and simple. I know I can get a coupler [the two yokes and u-joint] from several sources. Just looking for a u-joint to mate with the 2 different stock yokes.
