have one of those big illustrated parts manuals the dealers used to identify and order parts. Or did the government for national security reasons confiscate all of them and is storing them in a warehouse somewhere along with the Ark of the Covenant that Indiana Jones found. Does anyone know where I might find one or even a scan copy for a 1974 CJ5?

jpflat2a in Cali has a nice dealership parts lookup collection. Although not likely for sale, he can probably get you an answer in a few days.

< note> ....sorry, I have sworn to secrecy of his secret location for these archives for national security purposes. When I was there last, I did spot the Ark of the Covenant in one of his storage containers if you need that. ;)

Google'd "Jeep parts Manual" and found a place called LLoyd's Automobile Literature. They listed a 1974-80 JEEP Parts Book. Said it was approximately 1425 pages. Placed an order for it. Will post what it is when I get it.

Got the Jeep Parts Manual from Lloyd's in the mail yesterday. Have not had time to really look through it but at a glance it seem to be the thing for which I was looking. Appears to be a photocopy and the quality is ok. Was it worth the price? I cannot say at this time. Knowledge is power and only time will tell if the money paid for this knowledge was well spent. Hey, I spent $50,000 on a college education and I still can't spell enganeer.
