Hey there..im kinda new here. I have a question about my 76CJ5.

It has some holes on the passenger side above and behind the wheel well on the outside of the tub.

    Im thinking spare tire carrier?
Was this possible in 76 or maybe sombody just did it?

The holes look to be threaded i believe and have some structure behind it. Ill have to look closer and post a pic later maybe.

    Thanks!

My guess is a spare tire carrier. The material underneath is probably a block of oak. If the holes are not sealed and an excess amount of moisture gets in there your tub will rot from the inside out. I recommend removing that block of wood if you aren't going to mount a tire there.

That's great! If you have looked at many old jeeps you can see the rust holes in that area. Sounds like you lucked out.
