    Hey guys,
Here I find myself stumped again, so I rely on the old trusty ECJ5 forum for answers. I just hope that one day I will know enough to help somebody out with these things!:)
My softtop has a gap in the top corner (on both sides) between the doors and the top. It is a fairly large hole that just sucks in the cold air and after looking at tops on some of the other 75's, I came to the conclusion that something isn't right. I have included some pics that i hope will serve as illustrations of the problem. I am thinking that the bar that is velcro'ed in horizontally above the doors is mounted to high. Is the bar supposed to line up with the hole in the top corner of the winshield? Mine is mounted above it, the top was put on by the PO, so I don't have a clue what he did. Oh yeah, the top is a bestop, (not sure if it's a supertop, tigertop or what)
    Thanks,
    Dustin

I don't know if this will be much help but I will share my observations with you. I have the Supertop on mine and the bar on it is much lower than yours. Mine lines up just under the hole. There may be other possibilities too. It could be that a different style top was mounted on old hardware (that's my favorite theory). It could also be that the doors are from a different style top. If I were you I would be looking for manufacturer tags to see what you really have.

it looks like you really need to align the doors. the are really low compared to what they should be.

Since you say both doors are affected then it does sound like your top or doors but more than likely the top is mounted incorrectly. With older Jeeps you run into the problem that they have probably had at least several owners and several tops. Not all owners know how to use or mount a top correctly on their own. I would look at how the horizontal bar on your top is mounted. It could be too high.

A seperate fix would be to run some weatherstriping to help block the hole if you can't figure out the problem.

It has to be one of two things (or a combination of both)

    1) Door is mis aligned. Mounted too low, needs tweeked, etc.

    2) Top post in the door frame is mounted too high.

It won't hurt to move the top post around by hand to see if it will solve the problem, or make it better. That would be my first step. If it doesn't help, have an assistant help you move the doors up and down to see if that solves the problem.
