windshield holes

    here is a picture of Ludel's cover of his book
    which shows these buttons in the holes

    I always thought that those holes had something to do with the original steel hard tops that were available from the factory.

    What holes are we talking about - the ones in the upper right?

    If so, they're for an eyebolt that the soft top uses for the upper door rod to connect into. On my w/s frames they had acorn nuts on them.
