Does anyone know if a pto from a ford ZF 5 speed tranny will fit a T-18 pto port? The ford and GM pto units LOOK similar. I have been searching the internet for information, but have not found anything informative.

I am pretty sure the bolt pattern will as it is a standard SAE port. The thing to worry about is the gears. That I am not certain about. You should be able to check with the parts guy at a truck body outfit. The kind of place that sells farm and industrial dump truck hoists. Also maybe someone on here has a Hollander book they could look it up in.

The housings will bolt up but like Cam said, the gear pitch and tooth count is different, so, no. Sorry. You might be able to get a matching gear though from some place like Six States Distributing, Potter-Webster, etc. They will need a tooth count from the counter gear of the transmission you are trying to mate the PTO unit to. Thanks, It's as I feared. Without some sort of tech manual, I will have to look for one that came off a T_18. So chances are slim that anything on ebay will help.

    Thanks for the help.
