I have seen threads with the best towing rig but what would be the least for towing. Flat towing a 67 CJ5 no more then 100 miles. Would a station wagon do it or sould it be atleast a small SUV?

Methinks you will be hearing from Boyink soon! :D IIRC, he has a Caprice wagon that he flat towed his CJ6 with.

FWIW, I trailer my CJ5 with my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 w/318. Leave it out of overdrive, and it's no trouble.....

I used to tow my CJ with a Ford Ranger, 4 cyl. I wouldn't have towed it long distance though.

My wagon is as long, weighs as much and engine is as big as my grand was, but are there any problems about the height since it is alot lower then my CJ?

    Worked great!

My Jeep isn't lifted much - extended shackles and 32" tires.

I think it's important to get the towbar as flat as possible though - I use a flipped 6" drawbar which lines up well with the towbar shackles I use:

I towed my 78CJ-5 from Pa to Las Vages and back, with a 2005 ford V6 Freestar Minivan. No problems. Great trip.
