been reading article/post after article/post about swapping the drum D30 over to disc brakes and was curious if anybody had an actual "parts list" of sorts?

Granted, cheap bone-yard parts would be best, but if new are needed that's fine also.

One thing i did note to memory was that in almost every post/article there was a certain year rotor to use that was thicker......at least one thing stuck in da brain

77-78 rotors were thincker. 79 up are 7/8 inch thick.

I got all the pieces I needed last year for mine ('77 - early '78 donor). Hmm, lets see: caliper mount, hub, rotor, caliper, pads, flex line. The spindle and bearings have to match, but you can use either. Disc is tapered I think, and drum isn't (same bearing in and out), but the outside diameter of the bearings is the same. The part numbers for the drum and disc hubs are the same. The change to thinner rotors was during '78. There's nothing wrong with running the newer "thin" rotors either if you can source the parts easier/cheaper. I think the bigger preference would be given to the 6 bolt hubs vs. the later 5 bolt ones. I wanted all Jeep parts so this was the route I went. I can't really comment on the GM caliper mount set up, or others etc. Find a donor CJ and get everything from the spindles out. Sometimes a complete front axle can be had cheaper than the separate pieces, just keep an eye open

    thanx for the input guys

I've been searching for a complete newer axle, but as of yet haven't found too much.

Reason i asked about the swap is here pretty quick i'll have a spare '84 chevy 1/2 ton front axle, which is complete. Have been reading about the chevy caliper brackets and stuff and figured i may just already have some of the pieces right under my nose
