    I wonder if you had a tranny with a different than Ford input shaft, or maybe a diesel input shaft. There is something like 12 or 15 different input shaft lengths on the T-18s for different applications. Some of them are very close but still different enough to cause problems. I've installed the T-18 with Ford input shaft behind Buicks, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, AMC's, and Fords all using the Ford input shaft and with the right bellhousing and the previous mods mentioned never had an issue with input shaft length. Very interesting. Nickmil.
