I'm sure you get asked a lot for values.... so I apologize for being unoriginal. My dad has a 1970 cj5 with the Dauntless V6, the options are as follows:
    hard top
    bikini top
    2 gas tanks
    winch
transfer case has what appears to be an overdrive
    warn hubs
    power steering
    new alternator and voltage regulator
body is in good shape with VERY minor rust
    paint is in poor condition
Sorry no pics but I'll try to get some.
He is looking to sell it in Salem OR but we're having trouble finding a value.
    Thank you

Yes, what Mike said. Lots of variability.

    Welcome wellsit,
You do realize that without seeing/inspecting, it's like playing "pin the tail on the donkey". :D But, with what you said (and didn't mention), I'd set my price at $4500 and see what kinds of bites you get. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I read the sticky'd thread before posting so I was sure to include all the pertinent info I could think of. I know it is hard to set a price without inspecting, or at least having a picture to look at. Mechanically the jeep is in great shape, the body is straight with no dents just the paint is old. The interior is ok, just basic jeep interior I guess. It does have a rear bench, but no seatbelts back there. I think we'll list it for around $4000 and see if anybody bites.

    Thanks again!

Salem's not far from Portland, maybe you could get together with Nickmil and bribe him to look it over for you? We have other members in that area too, right?

Id say 4k would be alittle high for asking, my old man lives in Vancouver and just baught a similar rig out of Portland for 2200$. If you going to list for 4k, be willing to take OBO.

I'm sure prices vary dramatically. I know I've seen a wide range but even beat up ones usually bring in $3000-$3500 around here. I guess I'll just list it and see if there are any bites and go from there. Thanks for the help!

Easiest to get top dollar by listing on E-Bay I'm guessing.
Ya'll come back now, ya hear :)
