    hello
i bought new HD shackels from 4wd.com
they are the kind that the bolt pushes
thru one shackel and threads into the other side,
and then a castellated nut turn on also.
how tight does the bolt turn into the threaded shackel piece
and then how tight does the nut get torqued on?
i tightened both sides at 40 ft lbs
and i experience a 'band' when i hit a bump
what is the correct procedure on installing this type?
    thanks

Not sure what the torque setting is but I can tell you from experience that if you tighten them too much you will uhhh.........squash them. They need room for play.

    it seems logical to me
that one would put bolt thru
    the non threaded schackle side
    thru the bushing
and then tighten into the threaded shackle side
just so it is flush is a tiny bit of give
then install the nut at 40 ft lbs
as the threaded shackle side won't let
it pull the bolt thur any further.
    does this sound logical?

here's how i separated the frame mount
    and the spring eye
    to install this schackle.
