The starter peddle on my jeep is sticking, and I'm not real sure why. I have never had this problem before. Has anyone experienced this and if so, what did it take to fix it?

See if you can get some WD 40 into it. That worked on my high beam switch that was sticking.

Happened once on my '64.....turned out a recently replaced heater hose hung up the throttle so it wouldn't return fully.

Just got my computer back up and running, just like my jeep. Turns out, the starter peddle shaft was hitting the engine block. Either the floor has been warped which is highly possible, or the engine has moved, which I doubt. Either way, I put some spacers under the top and bottom right bolts that hold the peddle down and the lever is now alligned properly again.

You might want to make a quick check of your engine mounts and transmission mount. Just to make sure they are not cracked or broken.
