    Hello all,
I've taken the 75 down to bare metal to prepare for paint and I am by no means a body man, just learning as I go. I was just wondering if you have to spray a different primer over the etching primer before you paint or can you paint over the etching primer? Like I said, i know little about this and any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Etching primer is just a thin primer designed to convert small bits of rust. The system I used, you could shoot the gray primer a short time after the etch primer without having to scuff between. Wait too long, and you'll have to scuff it up. At any rate, the etch primer is simply a means to stop any rust that may have just started on bare metal. Think of the grey primer as a very thin bondo, designed to fill very small scuffs and such.

You can also hit your local auto body paint shop and they most likely will talk you through it, or at least they should be able to provide the tech sheets for their products.

PPG and most of the other paint suppliers have web sites where you can download all the technical info for their products.

x2 on everything above. If you have some scratches and/or pitting you can use a filling primer instead of a standard one. The filling primer is thicker and fills in small imperfections.:v6:
