So, I woke anal again, and now I'm putting the W/S hinges back in place. When I took them out, there was a bit of old style sealant in between the hinge and frame. Most of it was gone, if it was ever there. So, I'm looking at gaposis here, and thinking I oughta close it up a bit. Any reason not to pick up some Goober-in-a-tube when I go to get more bolts to remount the spare tire carrier because the new tires are just a little fatter than the old ones and it don't set well?? Ain't one thing it's a couple more.... Guess that makes going to town more productive, eh?

The hinge is shown out of position just for clarity. The gap is just right of the upright when closed.....

I didn't have anything between the hing and the window frame on two different windows I took apart. :?

Ah, well..... Gonna get more Goober and try to be neat about it. (this means I'll smear it all over everything I touch, and then wish I hadn't been so anal)

The bolts for the spare tire carrier on the other hand...... Sheesh, had to beat the old ones out with a friggin hammer. What was the object today? I was just gonna put the new W/S back on, then start on the lifter issue on the 70........... This is looking like a little more beer than I thought. Better go to town, before the list gets any longer....

You might try masking the surfaces around the hinge (and the hinge, itself) with a bit of masking tape. That way, If you do smear some on the surface, it will come off with the tape. If you're real messy, you may have to carefully cut through the goober pucky with a razor blade for a good separation. Just my $.02.
