Ok let me know if I am toking the crack pipe here. I have a full hard top on my Jeepster that I really don't want. I am going to use part of it to repair and sell the half cab I have. The rest will then be uncut rust free steel. Coud use this to build my floor pan? With the price of steel this would save a ton of cash. Maybe with some bracing? Let me know what you all think.

Put down the crack pipe, Sean. Somebody out there will pay big bucks for that top, if it's in good shape. And steel ain't that expensive. Don't butcher something rare like that just to save a few bucks. JMHO.

It all depends on what shape the top is in. I have used non-repairable truck fenders to repair floors. I have also used sheet metal from washing machines and dryers.

I think I'd hit the junkyards and scrounge for sheetmetal before I'd hack up a good Jeepster hardtop. But that's just me.

go to your local heating and air contractor they allways have a pile of old units out back most of the sheet metal is 16 to 20ga. the covers and doors are usually yours for the asking. theres several behind my shop i would love for somebody to remove.
