Anybody ever hear of installing a rear driveshaft with a CV joint at one end of it to handle severe angle misalignment? With the V8 engine, the adapter plate at the bellhousing and the xmission brake, I don't have much room left. Also, can I tilt the differential housing up toward the tranny by shimming the spring perches, or woll this mess up the lubrication at the pinion bearing?

Yes you can rotate it up some (not sure on exatcly how far you can go w/o oiling problems though). You can also lower the crossmember to help some.

actually, with the cv joint type shaft you're going to want to rotate the pinion up a little to make around a three degree angle. it should say that on the tom woods site somewhere to go along with the installation instructions for the shafts. my cj didn't need it, but the cv shaft heped out the cherokee with it's vibes.

You can get a diff cover with a higher fill plug for this too.
