It says that it is for a 4 cyl and I have 6 but I'm thinking it's not going to make a difference. http://www.jeepdoc.com/catalog/partframe.asp?id=961

I tried welding the ear where the rod pulled through the hole but the whole x shaft is worn to hell. I'm moving soon so I need to get this replaced and the Jeep off the property.

If it's the Omix Ada part, you will probably be quite disappointed. I opted to fix mine over using that part. Post an ad in the "Wanted to buy" section and see if you can't dig one up.

If I remember correctly the 4 and 6 are different. I rebuilt the one that came with my v6 I put in my 2A because the 4 cyl one was different somehow.

You know what? that might explaine things...
They may be different. I had one laying around that was in better shape. Off a 4cyl jeep. When I put it in my dauntless jeep, I had to space the frame pivot point out at least a half inch.
I'm going to say the 4 cyl is shorter than the 6, but I did have the trans and Tcase out so things may have gotten shifted somehow...

Mine was worn badly also, and i bought the Omix-Ada crap for my '2a. It fit lengthwise, but the ears were at the wrong angle & I ended up cutting one off and re-welding it in the correct place.

You know I had to make one once on a Corvette when I changed it from an automatic to a stick. Wasn't too difficult like I thought it would be. If you don't trust your own welding ability or don't have access to a welding machine just measure, mark and take to welding shop.

I believe that was the problem. The ears were at different angles.
