Wheres a good place to find headers for a 62 Willys with a 327 motor ?It appears the headers would need to exit above the frame.Presently I have stock manifolds but the exhaust sets right on the frame.Looks like it has hit a number of times and bent the pipe some.

Forget the headers... Go find a set of the old GM "Ramhorn" or "Centerdump" manifolds. They work great and you actually end up with the exhaust inside the framerails so you can make it exit out the back. They work slick.

Mine has the center dump manifolds, who ever did the exhaust went up and over the frame. I started pulling the pipes off today so I could move the engine back 1 1/4" for the clearance issues and found the driver side front mount(rubber) broken. The pipes were laying right on the frame. I welded on extentions to the mount that bolts to the engine and redrilled so I could the extra 1 1/4" .After I get the mounts replaced I think I can get the exhaust pipes between frame and block but its going to be tight. My "Muffler King" guy is pretty creative though and a Jeep enthusiast : )

Yeah it is a snug fit, but it can be done. I saw your post in your other thread about the exhaust routing... Again, just some advice from a guy that's been there done that, but run your exhaust inside the framerails all the way out the back. Mine used to exit in front of the rear wheels. I got tired of listening to the exhaust (my left ear practically went deaf) and for whatever reason the exhaust would fill the inside of the Jeep..top on or off. I routed it out the back and no more problem, plus I can hear out of my left ear again. Additionally, routing the exhaust out in front of the rear wheels makes in very vulnerable off road. If it's inside the frame, it's very difficult to injure it.

Southtowns27,what mufflers did you use ? My 78 Chev4x4 454 has Turbo's and they're pretty bulky but theres a lot of room under the 78's frame.
I was thinking of using 2" exhaust if it will clear.
