Leaky gas cap

Anyone else have this problem. Every time I lean to the drivers side, fuel leaks out of my gas cap. I think that the tanks vents through the cap and doesn't make a good seal. Is there a gas cap out there that vents but doesn't leak?

Try searching this has been talked about a good bit in the past. I think Patrick found one that seems to work pretty well. Cant remeber the name of the Co. though right now....

There are three ways that your gas cap is leaking.

A......The seal for the cap is wore out, spring plate is weak.

B......The vent check valve is malfunctioning.

    C......The tabs are worn down.

Replacing the cap is the best solution.

I have the same problem. I'm not convinced that just a new cap will solve it but I'm willing to try that.

Also, I did buy a new rubber to seal where the filler tube comes out of the body - Herm has 'em. Now, at least the gas just dribbles down the outside instead of inside and under the tank.

Best thing to do is sell me the Jeep..Only kidding, I took some cork gasket material and put it between the rubber and the cap seemed to work ..of course I dont use mine for an everyday use..
