Another Tarp Support Option

Here are a few pics of another tarp support that I put together using some redwood lath. The lath was left at the already cut length of about 4 ft. Small blocks of wood were glued to the lath toward each end at a distance just longer than the inside tub width to produce the bow shape. Total cost was about $1.50.

How many bows seem to work best? Doug

 

I used 5 and it seems enough.

 

Scratch this design. I noticed today that all of the bows collapsed. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

 

Hold on. What did you determine caused the collapse?


(I'm thinking it could have been the Bush Administration)

 

Don't really know but I'm thinking heat was the source of the problem. The sun was directly on it for most of the day. The lath was only a 1/4 in. thick and flexible. All 5 of the bows collapsed. I might have to go back to the PVC design a better idea doesn't surface.
