Anyone ever try to make a plow?? and a mount. Any way to take the plow on/ off? Doesn't need to be hydralic or nothing, just when it's on it will be down and then take it off when un needed. Thought about maybe bumper connected to plow?. My bumper only has two bolts that hold it on. These could be taken off and then the plow could attach. Seems like too much torque on the frame though. Being that up high. any ideas or welcome.

FWIW - I scrapped the plow but still have the lift and shock if you're interested...

looks good , but then I still need to find a plow. I'll look today on the net maybe. Any ideas if i cant find one near me. Could only find one that's 3 feet long. If I do end up fab ing it is it hard to do, I have acces to lots of stuff at work.

When I was building that one someone mentioned using 1/2 of a 55 gallon drum for the blade.

Can't be hard if I did it...;)

An old galvanized water pressure tank works well to make a plow too. My dad had made one for the front of his tractor, I'm thinking of making one myself. Cut it in thirds.

I have an actual Jeep pump and lift assembly off my 2A that is just collecting dust. Let me know if your interested and pass on the one Boyink has.

The lift unit is pretty heavy - figure a starting motor plus the pump part of it. I'll sell the lift, the shock plus a rebuild kit/spare housing for the lift, plus some plow antennas and a release cable for $50.

I'll weigh it later today...still putting away camping stuff yet..

PMed you, I don't understand what your saying I would and would not get. Any body else with suggestions is welsome to post. Kind of expensive to ship so if anybody has cheaper ideas they are still welcome. No offense to either of you guys. :)

Umn remember I said that I don't need the lifter, this will be to plow my long 1/4 m driveway in maine with lots of snow. just when I put it on it will be on and down and when it's off it will be off , maybe something like my bumper now then short springs then a plow that is half a 55 gallon drum. And also supports from the bottom of the plow that connect to a plate in front of the springs and the to the plow. brainstorming here.

OK - if you don't need the lift unit, then you're better of getting everything else locally. W/o the lift you won't need an A frame or the release cable.

You do want some "give" built in - to absorb some of the impact from the plow. That's what I used the shock for. It's just a motorcycle shock -- a take off that I guess the Honda guys don't like. Check around - I paid $20 for it.

I spent many years plowing and I would not want to deal with a plow that didnt lift. I think you are asking for a big headache. Just my 2 cents
