Parts swapping??

I was at the local u-pull it Saturday & found several jeep Cherokees xj's. My question is will the power steering (pump & Steering box )from on of these work on my 1975 CJ5, 258, 3spd?? I know I'll have to find the right motor brackets. How about the knuckles for the disk brakes. That would be nice......... I like how the xj powerbrake booster mount on the firewall with out the big bracket. Has anyone tried bolting one of these on?

 

The XJ pump uses a serpentine belt where your 258 has a v-belt. The steering box will bolt on with some cutting/welding/drilling. Not sure if the end of the '75 column will match the XJ u-joint directly, but I know the length is very close to what you need and others have used them, possibly with modification. The booster will mount to the firewall, but you need to enlarge the hole for the rod and boot. I recommend grabbing the whole pedal assembly from the XJ and modding your CJ pedal to match the XJ bracket.
