speedometer cable

    Recently replaced a burned through cable (due to exhaust pipe) with a new one and now the speedometer from 0 up to about 40 jumps pretty badly. Once at 50 to 60 it smooths out but is still a little jerky. Any suggestions ?

    I don't remember the old one doing this before it died...

    This happened to mine, it wasn't seated right in the back of the assemblie. A few days after I tightly cranked the cable onto the assemblie, I was able to spin it a few more times easily (it had finally seated).
