The Scout axles are wider and the springs mount in the front are too. You can do out board spring mounts and later cj springs.

Sounds like a lot of work for a rig that is only going hunting and a little trail riding.

Do yourself a favor and stick to spring under. Buy some decent after market springs that will give you some ride and articulation improvement. I think in the long run it would be far less work and a rig better suited to what you want to use it for. Unless you are a very good fabricator or have very deep pockets spring over isn't the way to go.

The Dana 30 is an upgrade (slightly wider, better turning radius, stronger axles, disc brakes) but will most likely need re-geared. Be prepared for that. The 30 is a virtual bolt in with the right parts. Do a search here, covered tons of times. The Scrambler springs are not a bolt in. IIRC they are longer and definitely wider. Also do a search here on that as it has also been covered. Nickmil

All the items Nick mentioned are covered in some depth in our technical library. :)
