I am about ready to plumb my fuel lines, I have a Holley red electric pump 98 GPH 7psi max and a Holley TA470 carb. main question is about fuel return. I have two tanks underseat and rear tank, with in between the seat selector switch. So will I really need a fuel return line? And if so how would i set it up to work with both tanks? Thanks

With the electric pump you will need a return or chance killing the pump prematurly. If you want it to return to the tank your pulling from you will need another mech switch, or if it's electrical, tie the two together. I have also seen folks with a single tank feed to the engine and pump from the '2nd' tank to the primary. That makes what your doing easier as well.

Use a Reg with return to the switch - then splits to the tanks. FWIW - you can use the setup to pump the fuel from one tank to the other via return lines if needed...

One time when I wanted to do something like this I went to the junk yard and for $5 I got a elect. sol. valve from a old Ford PU. By switching one switch on your dash, you could transfer both the tank you wanted to pump from and the return line to that tank you were pumping out of. Pretty simple and easy to use. I think it was much easer then trying to plumb up 2 mechanical ones. Just my thoughts.

Electric fuel pumps? When you turn on your switch and you hear the pump clicking and then slow down and stop, that means it is demand controlled. You won't need a return line. Only puts out what you use. Hope this helps.

FWIW, you really don't want to tie the 2 tanks together or rig to pump from one to the other. If I remember correctly, it is illegal on anything other than diesel fuel. The only legal way to do multi tanks is to switch between them.
