Does anyone know where I could get the rubber inserts that cover the three holes at the inside bottom edge of the windshield? There is one hole located above the steering wheel, one slightly to the left, and one centered above the passenger seat. I have seen them in salvage yards, but they're usually too rotted to be of any use. I have two CJ5's one is a 64, and the other is a '69. I need these for the '69 because the '64 doesn't have the same holes. I am not even sure of what the purpose of these holes was to begin with. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Access to bottom mount wiper linkage? I think '69 was the transition year. Just a guess. I know the '73 frame I had had these holes and that's what I used them for.

I'm looking for the same thing. I haven't seen them anywhere, so I'm going to be watching this thread.
As a temp fix, I got some 1 1/2" stainless snap in covers they use on kitchen sinks at the local ACE. Scratched 'em up with some sandpaper, painted them a semigloss black, stuck an O ring around the "prongs" and stuffed 'em in the holes. Works for now, better than nothing.

If thats what you're talking about, you can get them from Walcks. They're not like the originals (slightly domed hard plastic vs indented soft plastic), but they fit fine and I like the look better. I don't think they're listed but if you call him he has all kinds of these goodies; hole inserts, grommets, fresh air duct that fits(expensive).:v6:

Thanks to everyone for the good links and the good suggestions for alternatives. It seems like every time I have a stupid question; someone else has already asked it; and / or someone else already figured out an answer. What a great website!!!!!!

    Thanks Again.

McMaster Carr (an industrial supply) is likely a good place to look for plugs and caps of different sorts.
