axle swap help

    I am putting a dana 30 from a early 80's cj7 into my jeep. The u-bolts that came with my lift are to big for the spring plates, and the old plates are cracked and rewelded from the last owner. So my question is do I buy spring plates for a cj5 or a cj7.

    Spring Plates to match the axle and/or your shock position is what you need.

    If I remember correct are the shocks on a cj7 on the rear side of the front axle and a ecj5 on the front.

    Yup - I got a set of dual pin spring plates when I did the D30 swap and am going to cut the rear one off.
