I just picked up this 74 cj5 about a week ago. I dont know much about jeeps. bought it at a farm sale last week. the back of the wiper switch is broke, the little external box is broke off.
it has a 3 wire plug, and a single wire,on the switch.and a wire to the box, that makes 5 wires total. the switches I see all say 3 wire. I could only get one of your sites to come up,it just gave me the three wire description,no pictures. my question is,do these new switches come with the external box? is this a little resistor or what? do I need it? chilton schematic sucks!
    thanx

The little box is actually a self reseting circuit breaker (fuse) I don't recall the value of it.

IIRC, the 3 wires are for your wiper operation, and the additional 2 wires would be for the windshield washer pump. If you must have a windshield washer (and it still works) just use a little push-button mounted in an inconspicuous place and get the 3 wire switches listed.:coffee::coffee:
