Replacing headlight wires

    Is the any way to replace the head light wire down to the termination point in the headlight? I was going to cut the wires short, solder on new ones and slide heat shrink over any existing cloth insulation. Sure would be nice to have new copper down there too tho! This is for my 57 m38a1, and the headlights are recessed a bit compared to a cj5.

    You can purchase new sockets for the headlights that have about 6" of wire on them.

    I had to do that for mine after they ate two of my H4 bulbs. :rofl:

    You might want to consider using relays also,- to cut down the amperage running through the dash wiring. Not original, I know. However -:):hurrican:
