I have a question about a D30 all new everything, i mean everything down to the lug nuts(i know because i helped to rebuild it) with 4.27 gears and all the steering warn hubs, discs etc. its from an 80 cj5 what would this thing sell for? just curious i thought of getting it from my buddy so i could have a spare setting around for another project. But what is fair value? Thanks Hunter

I paid $125 for a dana 30 w/disks that only had 23,000 miles on it. It was in great shape, I did re-gear it and put an Aussie locker in it though. I would think that $250-350 would be as high as I would go, higher if it had anything but an open diff but not much.

Mmmmm, I dunno, maybe 300 bucks. Keep in mind, I'm always on the cheap. I like ggod parts but try to gett'em as cheap as possible. May very well be worth more since it's all rebuilt.

A lot of it depends on location. Around here a core 30 with discs goes for about $200-$300. A rebuilt unit without a locking diff or limited slip can go up to $500 depending on gear ratio, receipts, etc. Nickmil

If you need 4.27 gears and all brake parts are good, $300 would be a really good buy. Hubs run $100, gear set is $150, bearings are $100, not counting wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, etc. Drop in a LockRight or Aussie and for around $500 you are into a performance front diff and disk brakes. I would expect it to sell for closer to $450 if he advertises around.

I bought a couple recently with all brake parts. One of them had all steering linkage, shock plates, and u-bolts. With a Russell stainless flex brake line set new in box, I gave $120. This one has 2.73 gears. Bought another without steering linkage or shock plates but still had the brakes and 3.54 gears. Gave $75 for it.

most of us that use the jeeps as a hobby can afford to wait for a good deal.if it was a dd,well the price of a good deal can go up.i don't have a top on mine so i'm not driving it until spring so anything i need i got a least 3 more months to look for a good deal.bob
