I may have access to an 8 ' brake, so I'm considering fabbing and selling blank dashes. What they would have is 1) a glovebox cutout, located where you want it, 2) steering column cutout and support (16" from left end for '55 to '71 CJ5's), 3) the 1" angle across the bottom as in the original, 4) the mounting holes around the outside edge. 5) the windshield holddown clips that are welded to the panel. The rest would be blank so you can locate your gauges and switches where you want. I would like to get a consensus on a price that is fair to you and to me. What would you be willing to pay for such an animal? Here are a couple of pics of the one I made for Shaggy.

I'd be interested in a couple without the steering column support.....
All my CJ's except the '57 are getting tilt columns and Saginaw steering or have it already so that would cut the cost down even more.....
How about around $60-$75 each with a discount of 2 or more? Say, $100 for a pair without the column support? Nickmil

I need one now cause I want to get that Painless Wiring harness and get this baby all wired up right. I just don't want to do it all twice and I'd love to relocate some gauges/switches where I want them. $60 to $75 bucks plus shipping and I'm in too.

Agree but I think you need to make the glove box cutout optional, and make the steering column attachments optional. I am swaping a 76+ tilt column into the jeep so the older attachmnets will not work for me.

But I think a starting price, with no cutouts for a glove box and no steering attachment points, would be someplace between 50 and 75 bucks.

Did they ever have speaker cutouts in an ECJ-5 dash? I have a buddy with a '67 Tux and it has them, so thinking a later dash swapped in. It has a welded in attachment for the column, too.

If that is the case, looks like a CJ-7 dash will fit. Here is one with no cutouts except the glove box for a price comparison. I remember seeing one somewhere with nothing cut?

Hey Tommy, never heard anything back about whether you would build/sell replacement dash panels. I really need one pretty soon as it will enable me to get my wiring done now and later when I pull the body for more extensive bodywork, I can just pull the dash out entirely. Considering the cost of safely (without bending/denting)shipping such a relatively fragile object, I'd like to keep the TOTAL cost around $100 bucks. Can you find out what it would cost to ship something like that to zip 76034 and tell me what it would take for you to do it? My money is good and green!! Thanks, Matt

Jeepboy what connectors are you planing to use so the wiring is easy to disconnect and stay organized for tub removal. I would love to wire now and paint later (need to paint when it's warm here after may) and those are the only two main things left to do.

Can we get it in Aluminum or Stainless steel? Can we move the glove box or completely remove it? I was hoping to find a blank, this would fit my bill. Let us know where we can order one.

Honestly, I don't know. Until I go with a full restore, I'll probably just make 'em as I go. No big plans, just something simple and easy... it depends on how many wires I actually end up with. A primary plug with 8 to 10 wires fed into it would be perfect. I'll look around and let you know.

Also, I've got money ready Tommy so if you can get one going, I'm in!
