Do you even need to use those wires? Are you planning to use the turn signal and wiper part of it? What about the ignition switch, trying to use the column setup for that?

I recognize that connector as being the same as the '84-'96 Cherokee XJ; might want to browse www.naxja.org

Do you have the sliding-rod style ignition switch on top of the column under the dash toward the firewall?

let's see if this'l help:) What you have pictured is the turn signal, hazard section
    [IMG]

the ignition section is on the right hand side of the colom, without the clips - it looks like this, the green lettering on mine, did not have a wire comming out
    [IMG]

the plugs that go into the ignition switch
    [IMG]
    and
    [IMG]

    the head light dimmer switch

I have working on this set up: Running lights, headlights high and low, turn signals, 4 way flashers, ignition start and run.

Have not figured out the brake lights, have a switch wired to the hanging pedals, also, something in my colom is wrong with the horn switch as I do not get any continuity through the horn wire.

Hope this helps, colum is a tilt colum from a 92 XJ, but my 94 GMC has a similar set up, also, the 78 cj7 had the similar wire harness - very common set up

man, looking over what is posted here, what I have, and that which is above, I think I may be able to figure out my dilemma with the breaks. - NOTICE that on the first harness I posted, the wires and colors going in, are not the same as those coming out - a local repair shop owner has been assisting me with IDing what I have and what goes where. Here is what I mean - lines drawn straght through - some clarification would be helpfull to myself included, as I believe I have some correctly ID'd and some needing to be re-labled.

    PLEASE SOME ONE HEEEELLLPPPR)R)R)

I may have just had a brain fart - I noticed on my clip, the white wire, ID'd by Dave 74 is for the brake switch and DOES NOT GO THROUGH THE CLIP - mabey, I could cut it and bypass the clip?

ok - all is well - I broght power to the brake switch which is activated by the hanging pedal and tied it to the white wire that I just relized did not go through the harness clipp. Walla - all is good in the world of lighting.

    Brake lights are DONE
